A New Convertible that Costs $2.3 Million Will Test a Niche Supercar Market.

Gordon Murray, who worked for McLaren and designed Formula One cars, said on April 4 that he wants to build a new supercar.

The coupe version of the Gordon Murray Automotive T.33 Spider has a naturally aspirated 617ps (609hp) V-12 engine and a manual transmission.

However, the Spider has two roof panels that can be removed and a rear glass window that drops automatically to make it possible to drive with the top down.

It is almost entirely made of carbon fiber and weighs 2,442 pounds, which is 39 pounds more than the coupe but a lot less than the McLaren Artura, which weighs just under 3,500 pounds.
