American professional basketball player Terry William Rozier III (born March 17, 1994) plays for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted by the Boston Celtics in the 2015 NBA draught after a standout collegiate career with the Louisville Cardinals. Before being sent to the Hornets in a sign-and-trade, Rozier spent his first four NBA seasons as a backup for the Boston Celtics.
Childhood Rozier was born in 1994 in Youngstown, Ohio.

He was only two months old when his father, Terry Rozier Sr., was sentenced to eight years in prison. When Rozier Sr. was released from prison in 2005, his son spent a few months with him before being arrested on involuntary manslaughter charges related to a 2003 robbery and kidnapping in which an accomplice was killed in a freak accident. Rozier Sr. received a thirteen-year prison term as a result of this verdict. Rozier, his brother, and half-sister were all raised by their mother, Gina Tucker, and his grandmother, Amanda Tucker.

Teenage Years

Rozier was a high school superstar in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where he graduated in 2012. He led Shaker to a 21-3 record and their first regional semifinal appearance since 2002 as a senior, averaging 25.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 4.7 steals per game. For three consecutive years, he was chosen as an All-Lake Erie League performer, and in 2012, he was ranked as the 74th best recruit according to ESPNU’s Top 100 Players.

The Boston Celtics (2015–2019)

Rozier was taken by the Celtics with the sixteenth overall pick in the 2015 NBA draught, which took place on June 25. He inked a rookie scale deal with the Celtics on July 27, 2015. He spent significant time with Boston’s minor league farm team, the Maine Red Claws, during his rookie season.

In 2015-16, he played in all 39 games for the Celtics and had seven-point games on two separate occasions. He made four of seven shots (40.0 percent) and scored 10 points in his playoff debut against the Atlanta Hawks.
the Charlotte Hornets (2019–present). Rozier was sent to the Hornets by the Celtics on July 6, 2019, as part of a sign-and-trade deal involving Kemba Walker.

The contract’s total value was $56.7 million over three years. He scored 35 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 18, 2019, a career high. The game ended in a 100-98 loss for the Cavaliers. On March 8, 2020, he would score 40 points in a 143-138 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in double overtime, surpassing his previous high by three.

Rozier scored a career-high 42 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 23, 2020. He also added three boards, two assists, two steals, and one block in the Celtics’ 121-114 loss.
