How about a second season of Air Gear?
Oh!great’s Air Gear is a manga series that ran from November 2002 to May 2012 and was published by Kondansha across 37 volumes. It ran in the November 6, 2002 issue of Kondansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine all the way through the May 23, 2012 issue. TOEI Animation (One Piece, Dragon Ball) adapted the series into an anime that aired from April 5, 2006, to September 27, 2006.
The first fourteen volumes of the manga were adapted into an anime, and in 2011, a special limited edition of volume 30 of the manga was released alongside news of an OVA. Rather than TOEI Animation, the OVA is animated by Studio Satelight (Fairy Tail, and Hellsing Ultimate), and the three main characters are voiced by different actors.
After the conclusion of the manga and Oh! great’s continuation of their work on another project, there is more than enough material for a second season of Air Gear to be made. Nonetheless, at this time, there has been no word from either TOEI Animation or Studio Satelight on when fans can expect season 2 of Air Gear. Although the odds are low, fans shouldn’t lose hope because Air Gear is among Kondansha’s most successful sports anime.
