New lock screen interface: iOS 16 will include a redesigned lock screen with widget support, programmable fonts, and a new extended view that will allow you to receive notifications and information right from the lock screen. Live Activities, which allow users to check scores and follow the progress of food deliveries, will also be supported by the lock screen.

Update for iMessage: Starting with iOS 16, users will have up to 15 minutes to alter or delete communications they’ve sent using iMessage. Additionally, users have up to 30 days to restore recently deleted texts. Users can flag opened conversations as unread using a function that is also available.

Update to Apple Maps: iOS 16 includes a number of improvements to the Maps app from Apple. It will display a number of additional parameters with the latest version, including speed, vehicle temperature, and other information.

Similar to how they can on Google Maps, users will also be able to add numerous stops to their route. Users of Apple Maps will also be able to look up public transportation prices. The app will also receive improved Apple CarPlay connectivity and new 3D-like aesthetics.

Other new features in iOS 6 include a shared iCloud Photo Library, Live captions, Live Text fast actions, and the ability to share images with your family by transferring them to a special shared folder. However, this function probably won’t be accessible until much later in the year.
