Google has stated it is developing Bard, a chatbot intended to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, as the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) continues to rise.
Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai stated in a new blog post that the future tool will be a “experimental conversational AI service” designed to simulate human communication. It is marketed as a strong resource for consumers seeking answers to specific inquiries, such as how to bake a cake or how many Grammys Beyoncé has won. .
Pichai says in the blog post, “Bard aims to integrate the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the strength, intelligence, and creativity of our massive language models.” It utilises web-based data to generate new, high-quality replies.
This statement comes after ChatGPT’s prototype, which debuted in late November, gained popularity.
Microsoft announced a multimillion dollar investment in OpenAI earlier this month. And just today, Microsoft revealed updated versions of its Bing and Edge search engines, which utilise the same foundational AI technology as ChatGPT.
Pichai said in the post that Bard is currently available to a group of “trust testers,” but he promised that the tool would be “more generally available to the public in the coming weeks.”
