A brand-new Cardi B single is forthcoming. The rapper debuted a video teaser for a new tune that Tay Keith (Drake, BlocBoy JB) created during the Sunday night BET Awards ads. Cardi was shown in the brief video perched atop a building with the words “Coming Soon” and “July 1” written in fluorescent orange letters.
She subsequently revealed the song’s name on social media.
The action is being taken in anticipation of Cardi’s eagerly anticipated second full-length album, which will follow her 2018 debut “Invasion of Privacy.” In the intervening years, she has released a number of joint projects, including “WAP,” the smash tag team from last year with Megan Thee Stallion, and her most recent features, the drill tune “Shake It” (with Kay Flock, Dougie B, and Bory300) and the 2021 duet with Lizzo, “Rumors.”
Cardi announced that “WAP” and 2021’s “Up” will appear on her upcoming album on Playboy’s Centerfold platform.
Cardi’s much-anticipated album has received little official information. Cardi hasn’t been in a rush, on the other hand. She stated to XXL last year that she felt as though she had built a timeline at this point.
Since I was determined to release my album this year last year, I suddenly stopped working on it. I believe that the COVID scandal discouraged me from doing so.
mainly because I want to tour and release an album. She has also continued to make headlines, as usual. When she and Migos performed at the BET Awards in June of last year, she announced her most recent pregnancy.
Since the release of Cardi’s 2018 debut album Invasion of Privacy, which included Kehlani, Chance the Rapper, YG, Migos, 21 Savage, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and SZA, more than four years had gone by. The first female rap album to be nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, Invasion of Privacy, took up the prize for Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammy Awards.
