Showtime, Mahabharata, and Koffee with Karan Season 8 are three new Indian movies coming to Disney+ Hotstar’s streaming service. The news was made on Saturday at the D23 Expo by Gaurav Banerjee, Head of Content at Disney+ Hotstar.
In California, the United States, in the Anaheim Convention Center, this event is taking place. These three new series forge fresh ties between the platform and Bollywood producer Karan Johar as well as Madhu Mantena, Mythoversestudios, and Allu Entertainment.
During the D23 Expo, Banerjee participated in a panel discussion on global content trends where she spoke about “eclectic global content trends, notably spotlighting Disney+ Hotstar’s role in shaping content in India and beyond.” He revealed here that Season 8 of Koffee with Karan, Showtime, and Mahabharata would soon be available on the streaming service.
Johar expressed his enthusiasm for the revival of his chat show, which debuted over 18 years ago, in a statement following the news. He disclosed that Showtime, a new fiction series from Dharma Production, will also be coming soon. The drama series will attempt to provide insider information about India’s entertainment sector.
The Mahabharata, on the other hand, will be based on one of ancient India’s greatest epics. It will talk of the final struggle between “dharma” and “adharma” through the succession struggle between the Pandava and Kaurava princes. The cast of this show is currently unknown, according to accessible information.
The D23 Expo from Disney began on Saturday and will last through September 11. Future projects from firms like Disney, Pixar, and Marvel will be displayed at this yearly event.
Disenchanted, which stars Amy Adams, Hocus Pocus 2, and The Little Mermaid all have trailers available. The Midnight Suns tactical role-playing game trailer and an unnamed game that puts Captain America and Black Panther against one another were also released by Marvel.
