Earlier today, Reuters reported that U.S. A co-founder of BlueMail, an email app that uses a modified version of OpenAI’s GPT-3 language model, told Reuters on Thursday that Apple Inc (AAPL.O) had blocked an update to the app.

“Apple has blocked the BlueMail update and continues to treat BlueMail unfairly and to discriminate against us,” Ben Volach of Blix said.

On the other hand, “other GPT-powered apps seem not to be restricted,” he said.

According to a document seen by Reuters, Apple rejected the app update last week on the grounds that BlueMail may produce content inappropriate for all audiences and therefore the age rating should be changed to those over 17.

“Justice is what we seek. Obviously, if we’re expected to be over the age of 17, everyone else should be as well “In a tweet, Volach noted that unlike ChatGPT, many other apps in the Apple App Store that boast similar features do not restrict access based on users’ age.

Apple, which is investigating the claim, said that developers can appeal a rejection using the App Review Board.

D.A. Davidson analyst Thomas Forte speculated that this could indicate that apps incorporating ChatGPT functionality would be subject to the same level of scrutiny as other apps when it comes to issues with the user experience and the appropriateness of the app’s content or service.

The tech world is completely obsessed with OpenAI’s ChatGPT because of its ability to generate content in response to user prompts.

In early February, both Microsoft (MSFT.O) and Alphabet Inc’s (GOOGL.O) Google announced plans to release their own artificial intelligence chatbots.

Although artificial intelligence-powered chatbots are still in their infancy, their unpredictable early search results and conversations have made headlines.
