Given Season 2 Anime: Expected Release Date, Cast, Plot Turns, And Much More!!

Given Season 2 Anime

Due to its genuine and modest view on homosexual romance, ‘Given’ became a huge sensation when it was published in 2019.

The shounen-ai (boy’s love) anime is based on Natsuki Kizu’s manga series, which he wrote and drew. It centers on four bandmates: electric guitarist Ritsuka Uenoyama and vocalist Mafuyu Sat, as well as bassist Haruki Nakayama and drummer Akihiko Kaji.

There are essentially two plot arcs in the manga. The first arc focused on Ritsuka Uenoyama and Mafuyu Sat’s relationship, while the second arc focused on Haruki Nakayama and Akihiko Kaji’s romance.

The first season ran from July 12 to September 20, 2019, with a film following in August 2020.

The available source material for the TV series and movies has already been exhausted, therefore the issue is if ‘Given’ will return for more. Here’s what we know thus far.

Season 2 of ‘Given’ might be released at any time.

Because a new arc must be built first, a second season will not arrive until late 2022 or 2023 at the earliest.

We’ll keep an eye on future developments and update this post when new information becomes available.

The Anime’s Manga Status

Given Season 2 Anime

Given is a manga adaption, as previously stated. Natsuki Kizu’s manga, which he wrote and drew, first appeared on April 30, 2013. The manga series in Cheri+ magazine is still going strong.

Manga’s continued existence is beneficial to anime since it offers the raw materials for anime. Given’s manga is divided into six volumes, the most recent of which was released in August 2020.

In the first season of the anime, it was adapted up to the 15th chapter of the manga. It was adapted up to Chapter 28 in the film. The end of Volume 5 of the manga series corresponds with the end of Volume 28. So far, six volumes have been released.

Although there aren’t enough published volumes for a new season, there are still chapters that aren’t in volume format, and the manga series is still running. The manga’s lack of source material may delay the release of the new season for the time being, but it does not rule it out in the future.

What Is ‘Given’s’ Plot, And What Will Probably Happen In Season 2?

The first season of the anime focused on Ritsuka Uenoyama, an electric guitarist, and Mafuyu Sat, a vocalist, as well as the founding of their band, ‘Given.’ When Ritsuka first heard Mafuyu’s singing voice, he was blown away.

He invites him to join their band as a singer. Their first live performance went off without a hitch. Ritsuka discovers he has fallen for Mafuyu along the road. Meanwhile, bassist Haruki Nakayama, another member of the band, harbors emotions for drummer Akihiko Kaji.

Given Season 2 Anime

Akihiko, on the other hand, was still dating his roommate, musician Ugetsu Murata, at the time. In the movie, which acted as a sequel to season 1, Haruki Nakayama and Akihiko Kaji’s tale was further explored and concentrated on.

The next plot arc will most likely continue to explore the bandmates’ burgeoning dual love ties. It’s difficult to say what will happen, but we can be sure it will be genuine and touching, just like in the previous chapters.

The Series’ Success

In order to see a new season, the anime must financially satisfy its creators. The anime’s disc sales weren’t great, but they weren’t terrible either. In the first volume, 3414 copies were sold.

Given the recent reduction in BluRay sales, although still falling short of expectations, it is not a desperate figure for the second season choice. While disc sales are average, how much is watched online is more crucial.
