You might have observed that there is no way to permanently add a battery % indication to the status bar of an iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, or iPhone 13 Pro if you recently purchased one of those models. Thankfully, there are a few fast ways to rapidly determine how much battery life is still in your device.
Although some had thought the iPhone 13’s reduced notch would enable the devices to show the phone’s battery percentage in the status bar, it appears we’ll have to wait for the iPhone 14.
If you upgraded to the iPhone 13 from a device that was more recent than the iPhone X, this shift may have left you wondering how to view the precise battery percentage on your phone.
How to Quickly Check the iPhone’s Battery Level
Let’s face it: The iPhone 13’s notch at the top of the screen makes the screen larger but leaves less room for a status bar. If you activated the option, you could always see the battery level up there on the iPhone SE (or older models of the iPhone with home buttons).
The iPhone 13 family, however, just displays a battery icon in the bottom-right corner. Open Control Center if you want to rapidly check a precise numerical %. Swipe down from the screen’s upper-right battery symbol to accomplish this.
When Control Center is active, the top-right screen corner displays a numerical battery %. You still have that much capacity in your battery before you need to recharge it again.
Swipe upward from anywhere on the screen to end your inspection of the percentage in the Control Center. Anytime you like, perform this quick battery check again.
How to Use a Widget to View the iPhone’s Battery Level
The “Batteries” widget on your iPhone 13’s Today View or home screen gives you another easy method to see how much battery life is left in your battery.
Simply pick “Edit Home Screen” from the menu that appears after holding your finger on any app icon for a moment. Then, tap the “+” sign in the top-left corner of the screen.
Select the “Batteries” widget from the widget selection menu that opens.
The Batteries widget should then be moved to a location on your Today View or a home screen page once you select “Add Widget.” In the top-right corner of the screen, click “Done” when you are finished.
You’ll see that the widget prominently displays the battery level on your iPhone. Very useful!
