Switch off the aeroplane setting

See if you have activated aeroplane mode and then forgotten about it. To restore network access on your Android device, simply disable the setting in question.

When the DND mode is activated, alerts, calls, and vibrations will not play or vibrate. If activated, calls will be muted, but you will still receive an incoming call notification in the status bar rather than the usual audible and visual alerts. The problem can be fixed by checking and turning off Do Not Disturb so that you can receive calls as usual.

On Android, to turn off Do Not Disturb:

  • You can access the settings by opening the app drawer.
  • Click the Notifications tab now. Depending on your device, the DND setting could be located in the settings for ringtones and vibration alerts.
  • Find the option to “Do not disturb” towards the bottom of the screen.
  • To turn off, simply flip the switch. Keep the peace.
  • You should now be able to receive calls at your number without having them muted.
