The Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, will release at the same time as in the US at the end of this week, Disney+ Hotstar has now confirmed.
With no delays compared to the HBO Max release, new episodes will start streaming on the platform every Monday at 6:30 am IST as of August 22. The ten-part television series, which takes place centuries before the events of A Song of Fire and Ice, is based on author George RR Martin’s book “Fire and Blood.”
The first season of House of the Dragon, which airs every Monday, will end on October 24 with episode 10. While the majority of HBO releases on Disney+ Hotstar follow the same schedule, the major difference is that the Game of Thrones spin-off will be available according to US availability.
The HBO episodes of House of the Dragon won’t need to finish broadcasting before they are made accessible on Disney+ Hotstar. like it did for the final season of Game of Thrones. This guarantees that you won’t come across spoilers online.
There might be one minor problem, though, for video nerds. Every Monday at 6:30 am, Game of Thrones season 8 episodes were live streamed or simultaneously broadcast on the platform rather than being ready to watch.
Although it was a brilliant way to increase traffic and get fans interested in the Westeros series, the compression and video quality was much poorer than those of the regular Hotstar non-live streams.
As a result, some chose to use pirated copies, while others chose to wait for the platform to release the premium editions. With the episodes of Disney+ Hotstar’s House of the Dragon currently available, maybe this won’t be the case.
Inside the Hot Game of Thrones Prequel Spin-Off, House of the Dragon
It’s intriguing that Disney+ Hotstar is beginning this process with House of the Dragon.
Game of Thrones episodes were released weekly on Mondays at 7:30 am IST on Hotstar prior to the eighth and final season.
The episodes weren’t supposed to air until HBO’s US broadcast had concluded. The Disney Star-owned company chose the aforementioned live stream option for GoT season 8 as anticipation and demand increased.
The Targaryen family is the main subject of House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones that takes place two centuries earlier.
The ten-part series acts as a prelude to the Dance of the Dragons civil war as Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) and Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) band together to contend for the Iron Throne.
King Viserys I (Paddy Considine), who lacks a male successor, is currently seated in the position.
Co-creators of House of the Dragon are Ryan J. Condal (Colony) and Miguel Sapochnik, who also directed the “Battle of the Bastards” episode of Game of Thrones.
Along with Olivia Cooke playing Alicent Hightower, Emily Carey portrays little Alicent, Milly Alcock plays young Rhaenyra, Eve Best plays Rhaenys Velaryon, and Rhys Ifans plays Otto Hightower on the television program.
