Lifeweaver, the next hero in Overwatch 2, is the first pansexual person in the series. During a roundtable interview with the Blizzard team, we talked about the new support hero.
Lead Narrative Designer Gavin Jurgens-Fyhrie told us that characters would be open to his advances during pre-match banter. But at the time, the team didn’t want to give away which characters would be in it. Lifeweaver’s conversation with Baptiste, another support hero, seems to confirm that he, too, is a gay character in Overwatch.
Lifeweaver isn’t yet available to everyone, but people are using him on Overwatch 2‘s test servers right now.

So, they’ve been able to test his dialogue with other heroes, and this conversation with Baptiste pretty much confirms that the ex-Talon medic joins Soldier: 76 and Lifeweaver in Overwatch’s group of gay men. In this conversation, Lifeweaver pretty much asks Baptiste to dinner.
Baptiste has been in Overwatch since 2019, and he has always been a bit of a flirt with Ana and other female characters. But this is the first time he’s flirted with a man in person. He might have been waiting for someone who would be interested in him. It’s not like Soldier is looking to date right now. He spends too much time being a vigilante.
Along with Lifeweaver, Soldier: 76, and Tracer, Baptiste brings the number of gay characters in Overwatch to four. Tracer, Soldier, and now Baptiste were all revealed to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community after their initial reveals, but Blizzard has been open about Lifeweaver’s identity since he was announced this week. I didn’t think he would say anything about another character, let alone Baptiste, who is my main supporting character, but I’m glad he did.
