Microsoft Integrates its AI Chatbot Into the Bing App for iOS and Android.

Microsoft brings its A.I. chatbot to Bing app on iPhone and Android

Microsoft announced on Wednesday the preview release of its new Bing and Edge apps for iPhone and Android, which include voice search and access to its AI chatbot.

According to a press release, users of the Bing mobile app can tap the Bing icon to initiate a chat session where they can ask a range of inquiries by text or voice. Responses may be presented as bullet points, condensed responses, or conventional text. Microsoft announced that users will also be able to access Bing updates on the homepage of the Edge mobile app.

On Wednesday, Microsoft also introduced AI-powered Bing for Skype. Users can include Microsoft’s AI into group discussions and pose questions to it. The chatbot will respond for the entire group. Users can ask Bing about trip suggestions, the weather, and recent award shows, among other things. Similar to the Bing mobile application, answers can be shown as bullet points, abbreviated responses, or text.

Bing in Skype is currently accessible in a global preview.

Microsoft conducted an event on February 7 at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, and introduced AI-powered upgrades to its Bing search engine and Edge web browser. The improvements were initially offered on desktop in a limited preview, so users could only conduct a limited amount of searches during the initial period.

Artificial intelligence-powered search, according to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, is the most significant development for the corporation during his nine years at the helm.

In an interview with CNBC’s Jon Fortt following Microsoft’s presentation, Nadella remarked, “I have not seen anything like this since 2007-2008, when the cloud was just beginning to emerge.”
