Microsoft One Drive Turns 15; New Features Added To Landing Page!

With the introduction of new features and an updated look, Microsoft is commemorating the 15th anniversary of its cloud-based storage service OneDrive.

OneDrive will get a new landing page called OneDrive Home with the most recent upgrade, and it will have a Recent view option that will enable users to filter and locate documents and prioritize their work.

Additionally, a new Activity column is being added, displaying the most recent unseen updates, mentions, and comments made on the shared papers.

Microsoft has also added a new Quick access area that lists the spaces that are used the most. Additionally, a new picture narrative feature will be available to Australian users of the OneDrive mobile app.

In a blog post published on Tuesday, the software behemoth described the new capabilities that OneDrive is introducing to mark its 15th anniversary. OneDrive Home, the new landing experience, will, as previously announced, list the most pertinent files of users along with any activity updates.

Users will be able to filter and find documents based on the file type—Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and Word—in the Recent view that will be present immediately on the revamped OneDrive Home page.

On the My Files display, Microsoft has also added an Activity column where users can access threaded comments, remarks, @mentions, real-time coauthoring, and highlighting. It will show the shared documents’ most recent, unseen revisions and updates.

Users can identify and pin their most frequently used spaces in the new Quick access section, which has also been added. The OneDrive Home’s left side will display this.

Additionally, a picture narrative feature will be available to Australian OneDrive mobile app customers. Users will be able to secretly exchange photographs and videos with their loved ones across several devices thanks to this functionality.

There will be a waiting period before receiving OneDrive Home, which Microsoft claims will begin distributing in the upcoming months.

For users of OneDrive at work and in the classroom, it will be accessible. Microsoft has announced that the photo narrative feature will be made available in the US and other countries later this year.
