In an announcement made at the Ubisoft Forward digital event, the US-based streaming service Netflix and the video game developer Ubisoft said they would start producing three mobile games in 2019.
According to a press release, these games, which will be exclusively available to Netflix subscribers on mobile without commercials or in-app purchases, will expand on the worlds of the well-known video games Valiant Hearts, Mighty Quest, and Assassin’s Creed.
The new Valiant Hearts game, which will be released on Netflix in January 2023, is a follow-up to Valiant Hearts: The Great War. The original crew will be in charge of directing the new Valiant Hearts game, which will have a fresh plot.
The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, the critically acclaimed mobile game adaptation of the well-known action role-playing game The Mighty Quest, will be followed by a new version on Netflix in 2023. The game is a hack-and-slash combat game with replay value that is influenced by the roguelike genre.
The Assassin’s Creed universe will also be available on the platform in addition to the previously announced live-action series, thanks to a partnership between Netflix and Ubisoft. Additionally, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, a new Assassin’s Creed game, was unveiled.
As we continue to develop a library of fantastic mobile games for our members throughout the world, this relationship will give our members exclusive access to some of the most intriguing game franchises, according to Netflix Vice President of Games Mike Verdu.
According to Jean-Michel Detoc, a chief mobile officer at Ubisoft, “I believe that this cooperation will be a tremendous chance for Netflix users to better discover our worlds and universes on mobile.”
