The ability to access YouTube’s library of fan covers, live performances captured by audience members, and other content is one of YouTube Music’s finest features. Now that Now Playing is available, YouTube Music is exposing these “Other performances.”

Depending on the song, you can access the new carousel by selecting the “Related” tab in the bottom-right corner of Now Playing and scrolling beyond “You might also like” and “Recommended playlists.” This page is completed with “Similar artists,” “More from,” and “About the artist.”

The amount of renditions disclosed by YouTube Music under “Other performances” varies tremendously and mainly only shows up for well-known songs/artists. The rectangle cover image indicates that there may be both audio and video.

We can now find concert videos submitted to YouTube by average people, as well as remixes, fan covers, acoustic renditions, performances by other artists, and more.

It also serves as a wonderful approach to increase the discovery of additional content and more clearly illustrates one of the main advantages of the streaming service without requiring users to actively use search or the Home feed.

Other performances are available right now on YouTube Music for Android, iOS (except for the iPad due to its outdated Now Playing UI), and the web. It started to show up for certain people a month ago, but now it’s being launched more widely.
