Xiaomi has been teasing the Redmi K50 series for some time, but no official announcements had been made. It has been verified by Redmi’s general manager that now the Redmi K50 series would be launched in China soon, and that might come as soon as this month. For anyone interested, I’ve included all of the pertinent information below.
Redmi K50 Series Might Launch Soon
The Redmi K50 series has been teased by Lu Weibing on Weibo. The Redmi K50 series is rumoured to include the Redmi K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro+, and K50 Gaming Edition, and will take the place of the Redmi K40 range. The specific debut date hasn’t been announced in the teaser. The rumoured launch date is February 25th, however.
We’ve heard a lot of speculation in the past about what’s to come. The vanilla Redmi K50 is said to be a mid-range device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU and 67W fast charging capabilities.
With that said, we may expect a mediatek SoC to power the K50Pro and K50Pro+, which are rumoured to have a MediaTek SoC. Both of them should be able to charge at 120W. In addition, a Redmi K50 Gaming Edition may also be released, which might be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform and may also have 120W fast charging capability.
Every one of these devices is likely to have an AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and run MIUI 13 on top of Android 12.
The price of the Redmi K50 series has been mentioned in a recent rumour. According to rumours, the Redmi K50 could cost as little as CNY 1,999 (about Rs 23,000), the Redmi K50 Pro at CNY 2,699 (around Rs 31,800), and the Redmi K50 Pro+ at CNY 3,299 (around Rs 38,900). Starting at CNY 3,499, the Redmi K5O Gaming Edition may be yours (around Rs 41,000).
There are likely to be further details about the Redmi K50 series, including the release date, in the near future. As a result, keep an eye out. On GadgetGrapevine.com, you can ask any questions you may have about this news in the comments section.
