The Blade 18 is the biggest and most powerful laptop that Razer has made so far. It has a big, beautiful 240Hz screen, a sleek metal frame, and almost every port you could want.
It can also be set up with the best chips you can get on a laptop right now, like an Intel Core i9 processor and an NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics processing unit (GPU). Only one thing is wrong: a fully loaded configuration costs $5,000.
To give you an idea of how much that is, Indexbox says that the average price of a new laptop or tablet in the US is about $495, which is 10 times as much. That makes the Blade 18 pretty much the Rolls-Royce of game laptops.
Let’s just say that unless you’re the son or daughter of an oil baron, you probably won’t buy one. So, to figure out who the Blade 18 is really for, I asked Razer to give me a $2,900 base model of the laptop to see what I get for all that money.
