The anime TV series Vinland Saga Season 2 is officially in the works!
WIT Studio has also indicated that the Vinland Saga Season 2 project would not be handled by them again. Studio MAPPA will instead be in charge of the anime TV sequel.
The anime creators also expressed a wish for a complete adaptation of the manga. Does this imply that Seasons 3 and 4 of the Vinland Saga will be released?
On July 7, 2021, at the Vinland Saga anime’s 2nd anniversary, the formal announcement of the second season was made. The Vinland Saga Season 2 trailer, which teases the new tale, was released alongside the first announcement of the second season by producer Twin Engine. (We’re currently working on a complete trailer PV.)
Release Date for Vinland Saga Season 2
The release date of Vinland Saga Season 2 has not yet been confirmed. While we can only conjecture, that January 2023 is unlikely to be the premiere date for the series.
The first season’s director recently tweeted about an ‘unexpected issue,’ which is thought to be connected to Vinland Saga’s possible studio change.
Despite the fact that the series was first announced for production in 2021, it’s unlikely that any work has been done on it since then.
Given the project’s size and, if it’s a Mappa production, the studio’s other significant productions (Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, and Chainsaw Man), Vinland Saga is unlikely to debut this year.
However, nothing formal regarding a release date has been verified.
The series could air later this year, but we wouldn’t get our hopes up.

spoilers for Vinland Saga Season 2
When we last saw the Vinland Saga, King Sweyn had been assassinated, and Prince Canute had killed Askeladd and taken control of the forces. Thorfinn slashed out at the Prince after losing his sense of purpose and revenge.
Thorfinn was sold into slavery as a result of his punishment, and he currently works clearing a forest for his slave master’s land. Thorfriends befriends Einar, a fellow slave who has attempted to flee slavery several times throughout the years.
Even slaves, according to the farm owner, Ketil, ought to be treated fairly. Thorfinn was assured that if he excelled at farming, he would be able to reclaim his freedom.
Thorfinn the farming slave has devolved into a shambling husk, content to remain alive despite his lack of desire for vengeance. Makoto Yukimura is the photographer behind this image.
Now that Askeladd is no longer present, Thorfinn has the opportunity to learn who he is and who he wishes to be. As a result, he, like his father, develops new regard for life and adopts pacifism as a lifestyle.
Meanwhile, both King Canute of Denmark and King Canute of England want to create a paradise for the Vikings, and he will kill everyone who stands in his way. Canute’s difficulty is that he’s out of money and resources
Canute, it turns out, wants to take the farmland that Thorfinn is working to earn his freedom. Canute concocts a plot to make the affluent Ketil family outlaws so he can grab their fortune.
Canute chases Ketil and his family when they leave aboard Leif Erikson’s ship after learning of Canute’s betrayal. Worse, Ketil is betrayed by everyone, including someone close to him.
With his finest warriors and frightening Viking mercenaries, Canute invades the farmlands. Ketil marshals force by enlisting the help of seasoned fighters and farmers who owe him money, but his forces are no match for Canute’s.
Thorfinn is now free, but he feels obligated to return to Denmark to complete his business with Prince Canute. But how can a pacifist find a peaceful solution to such a volatile situation? Is it possible for Thorfinn to establish his own path by following in the footsteps of a true warrior?
