The Sony ILME-FR7 is the first PTZ camera to feature a back-illuminated 35mm full-frame CMOS image sensor. Sony’s E-Mount lens is built in, and it’s compatible with other E-Mount lenses like the G Master series.

The camera has an effective resolution of 10.3 megapixels and a dynamic range of 15 stops or more. Controlling the pan/tilt/zoom features from afar is possible. The RM-IP500 remote control for Sony cameras is suitable for use with this camera. Flexibility in pan and tilt angles (from 0.02 degrees per second to 60 degrees per second).

  1. ISO can be increased to a maximum of 4096004 via the Sensitivity setting, making it suitable for use in dim conditions.
  2. By having a latitude of more than 15 stops3, smooth peaks and low background noise are possible.
  3. Included are a number of pre-configured scene files, such as S-Cinetone, which provides the natural mid-tones necessary for glowing skin, along with other colour palettes and highlight settings. Because the desired aesthetic can be realised on-set, post-production work is minimised.
  4. ISO 800 and ISO 12800 are available as the default sensitivity settings in Cine EI, allowing you to adapt to varying lighting conditions and minimise noise without sacrificing image quality. Sony’s native S-Log3 gamma, S-Gamut3 wide, and S-Gamut3. Cine colour spaces are all supported in this mode, making it a great choice for post-production work.
  5. Again, that cinematic look and the range of emotions it can evoke is made possible by the ability to shoot at up to 4K 120p[v].

  1. Intuitive control over the camera’s panning, tilting, zooming, focusing, recording, and playing back is now possible from any web browser on a tablet or computer.
  2. The FR7 system allows for multiple viewers to view footage from afar at once. It’s also possible to remotely view multiple cameras from a single device, thanks to multi-camera monitoring.
  3. The FR7’s integrated, remotely controllable pan/tilt mechanism allows it to be mounted on a tripod, on a ceiling with the dedicated CIB-PCM1, or in other locations with restricted access, allowing subjects to be followed and recorded inconspicuously from a variety of angles.
  4. Sony’s RM-IP500 remote controller for multi-camera production is also compatible with it, allowing for greater freedom of expression and less manpower requirements in studio and location shoots.
  5. Important joystick-controlled pan, tilt, and zoom for up to 100 PTZ cameras is available from a single RM-IP500 unit. The FR7 can be operated easily with the help of the included infrared remote controller.

  1. Unique among PTZ cameras, the FR7 has two card readers for different types of memory (CFexpress Type A and SDXC).
  2. The FR7 is great for a wide range of video production uses thanks to its ability to record high-quality XAVC-I footage with metadata.
  3. High-speed write capability guarantees stable recording of high volume, high frame rate data, making CFexpress Type A cards ideal for high bitrate 4K movie production. Not only is interval recording possible, but so is relay recording, proxy recording, and simultaneous recording.
  4. A 16-bit RAW signal can be sent from the SDI output to an external recorder if one is available (sold separately).
