The Latest AI News From Google is Likely to Speed Up the AI Arms Race.

The race between big tech companies to release new AI features to the public is heating up as Google’s AI tool Bard can now code as well as its main competitor. Google announced on Friday that its main AI product, Bard, can now code in a number of computer languages. This makes it the same as its main competitor, OpenAI’s GPT-4.

In answer to user requests, Google’s Bard can now code in languages like C++, Python, and Javascript, according to a blog post by one of its researchers.

With this new change, Bard will be able to give some of the advanced features of its main competitor, OpenAI‘s popular versions of GPT, which is a popular alternative.

After OpenAI released ChatGPT out of the blue in late 2022, tech companies rushed to catch up with it. Many people were surprised by the new AI tool’s abilities, which have grown a lot in the six months since it came out.

Rapid public deployment of new AI innovations has given the general public access to some of the newest AI tools in a way that has never been seen before. However, many well-known AI experts have warned that the current “arms race” between some of the world’s largest corporations is likely to come at the expense of AI safety, which could have bad results.

Many leaders in the field of AI development have called for a brief stop to training AI models that go beyond what OpenAI’s GPT-4 can do. This would give lawmakers and AI safety experts time to “catch up” and make rules for the technology.

Many experts say that if we don’t do this, it could be bad for humanity. A recent survey showed that more than half of AI researchers think there is a 10% chance or higher that uncontrolled AI growth could lead to the end of humanity.

Even though rushing to use AI tech has serious effects, the biggest AI tech companies in the world are in a wild race to release new tools, which Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently called “frantic.” Experts say that quarterly results and the race to get more market share are putting safety concerns last, which could have terrible and permanent effects on all of humanity.
