More details of Netflix’s anticipated series, The Sandman, have been released as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week, which began Monday and runs through August 5, 2022.
A year has gone since Netflix revealed intentions to turn Neil Gaiman’s landmark comic into a live-action show in 2019. For a long time, it seemed like the dream was only a fantasy. The streamer provided us with a new look at the show during Geeked Week, and it looks fantastic!
A total of 75 issues of the original “Sandman” comic book series were released by DC’s Vertigo label from 1989 to 1996. One of the most popular comic book series of all time was written and drawn by a revolving cast of pencillers, and it was known as one of Neil Gaiman’s best works.
Over 20 Eisner Awards and numerous spin-offs and follow-up miniseries have made “The Sandman” widely regarded as one of the greatest comic books of all time.
Executive produced by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg, “The Sandman” was adapted for television by the trio. According to Netflix, the show is a joint effort between DC Entertainment and Warner Bros.
What is The Sandman about?
If you’re a new reader, The Sandman might be a difficult narrative to get your head around because of the vast topics, countless characters, and numerous myths and stories that are woven throughout the story.
Dream, also known as Morpheus, Kai’ckul, Sandman, and numerous other names, is the protagonist of the novel, which revolves around his journey. Depending on who sees him, his identity and appearance are always shifting.
We see him deal with the difficulties that come with the position of Ruler of Dreams from the comfort of our own homes. His mistakes have come back to haunt him many times. The truth is that he’s terrible at relationships, and you’ll quickly discover this. We are counting down the days till August 5th.

Plot and rumors about the Sandman TV series
The series will begin in the same spot as the comic books (as in the collected edition, Preludes, and Nocturnes). The dream is kidnapped by a cult more than a century ago and is released to find Dreaming in shambles when he returns.
One of the Endless, a group of siblings that also includes Destiny, Death, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium, his job is to maintain order over the realm where all lifeforms visit in their slumber. As a result, his confinement is stirring up dissatisfaction in the waking world.
It is his duty to remedy the errors of the last century, as well as recapture some of the atrocities that have crossed borders.
Lucifer, a figure from DC and Vertigo comics, will appear in Netflix’s The Sandman, but it was decided not to cast Tom Ellis (who plays him in the eponymous TV program) in the same role as he has done in the comics. Because it doesn’t cross over, it isn’t.
