The Xbox 360's White Gamepad Will Return For Contemporary Systems!

The Xbox 360’s original, white controller, which debuted with the platform 17 years ago today, will return as an Xbox Series X peripheral, courtesy of Hyperkin, the peripheral manufacturer behind the slick and flashy Duke Nukem relaunch for current hardware.

The throwback gamepad, named “The Xenon” (after the Xbox 360’s early development codename), is available in four colors: pink, red, classic white, and re-release black. The Xenon is compatible with all Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S consoles, as well as Windows PCs.

In Tuesday’s announcement, neither price nor availability was specified. Although the buttons, thumbsticks, and directional pad are identical, there are also menu, view, and share buttons to support modern features.

A promotional flier from Hyperkin stated that the controller contains a rumbling feature, but did not indicate whether this is activated via the triggers, as has been the case since Xbox One. Unfortunately, the Xenon is only available as a wired controller, but at least it is not hardwired.
