Buried in Barstow finishes on a horrific note, with multiple individuals suffering serious bodily injuries at the same time. Travis, who has been terribly beaten, appears out of nowhere and nonchalantly invites Joy to waltz off into the sunset with him. Joy concurs.

In another scene, Hazel tries to defend Javier, a long-time coworker and good friend (George Paez). Hazel is shot as a result of the move, which backfires spectacularly. Elliot steps in to save her.
