Winner of America’s Next Top Model Deletes Twitter Account Following The Last of Us Star Puts an End to Them

America's Next Top Model Winner Deletes Twitter Account After The Last of Us Star Shuts Them Down

With its live-action production of The Last of Us, HBO has aired five consecutive episodes of innovative television, and if the most recent episode is any indication, we’re in for something extraordinary. The series has garnered record-breaking ratings for the network, surpassed only by the Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon, and has already been renewed for a second season. In episode four, fans were introduced to Kathleen, an original character created for the series (Melanie Lynskey).

Kathleen is a somewhat harsh leader of the Kansas City, Missouri revolution who is searching for Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey). The actress who portrays Kathleen was recently subjected to body shaming from an unexpected source: a winner of America’s Next Top Model. Lynskey responded to Adrianne Curry’s disrespectful comments by shutting down the past winner of America’s Next Top Model. According to Entertainment Weekly, Curry has apparently deactivated her Twitter account in reaction.

Craig Mazin, the Emmy-winning creator of the HBO series Chernobyl, co-produced The Last of Us with Druckmann, the developer of the popular video game series. The author stated in an interview earlier this year that The Last of Us is the “best” video game story ever. In an interview with Empire Magazine, Mazin proclaimed, “It’s a no-brainer:

this is the finest story ever told in video games.” “Joel and Ellie did not launch anything from their eyes. They were merely humans. In addition, this is an extremely uncommon occurrence in games. I’ve been playing computer games since 1977, and I’ve never experienced anything comparable to the realism and emotional impact of this game.”

Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Anna Torv as Tess, Nico Parker as Sarah, Murray Bartlett as Frank, Nick Offerman as Bill, Melanie Lynskey as Kathleen, Storm Reid as Riley, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Jeffrey Pierce as Perry, Lamar Johnson as Henry, Keivonn Woodard as Sam, Graham Greene as Marlon, and Elaine Miles as Florence also star alongside Pascal (Joel) and Ramsey (Ellie) in the series. Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, who played Ellie and Joel in both video games, are also expected to make an appearance.

On HBO Max, the first five episodes of The Last of Us are now available to stream. The first season of the show will consist of nine episodes, with fresh episodes airing every week.
