Microsoft announced on Thursday that Ubisoft Plus, the publisher’s monthly membership service that lets you play all of its old games, is now available on Xbox consoles. Each month, it costs $17.99 to be a member.
Access to Xbox is part of the subscription’s top-level Multi Access plan, which also gives users access to Ubisoft’s catalog on Amazon Luna and Windows PC through the Ubisoft Connect network. Players who have already paid at the Multi Access level and want to play Ubisoft games on an Xbox One or Xbox Series X just need to link their Xbox Live account to Ubisoft Plus.
Thursday’s news release from Ubisoft said that Ubisoft Plus Multi Access would allow cross-platform progress and game saves “for a select number of titles,” which were not named. The full list of games in the Ubisoft Plus library is on Xbox Wire.
Ubisoft’s statement also said that subscribers would “have access to premium editions of upcoming releases,” but it wasn’t clear if this meant that subscribers would be able to play brand-new games on the same day they were released or not.
In September 2019, Ubisoft Plus went on sale. It can be played on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but only if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus at the Extra or Premium level.
The service is similar to EA Play, which has been around for nine years and is offered to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, which is the highest level of membership for that console. Like EA Play, Ubisoft Plus members can save 10% on in-game purchases.
