You Can Now Sign in To One Whats App Account from Four Different Phones.

Users can now sign in to their WhatsApp accounts from a second phone, just like they can from a computer or tablet. The new feature was just released, and users all over the world will get it over the next few weeks.

Users of WhatsApp have been asking for years to be able to use the same account on multiple devices. Until now, you could use the popular messaging app through a Web browser or PC apps, but this is the first time you’ll be able to link multiple smartphones.

A company blog post says that users will be able to continue message threads and access all of their pictures and other media from multiple devices without putting their security or privacy at risk.

The user’s WhatsApp account can be linked to up to four more phones, but only the main phone can be used to authorize other devices.

The process is the same as authorizing WhatsApp Web. Users will have to scan a QR code, but the company says it is also working on an OTP-based authentication system as an option.

Mark Zuckerberg, who is the CEO of Meta, talked about the new feature on the main broadcast channel.

This could be useful when a user’s phone battery is about to die. The company thinks that being able to sign in from a friend’s or partner’s device could be useful when it’s important to stay in touch or get information from a message line.

Small business owners could also give employees permission to answer official business messages, which would make customer service faster and more responsive.

The company has also said that if the main phone on which an account is signed in is inactive for a while, all companion devices will automatically be signed out. At the moment, this time range for WhatsApp Web is 14 days.

All talks are always encrypted from end to end. Even though companion devices need the main device to sign in, their connections to WhatsApp servers are separate, so users can still get to their important information and chats if they lose access to the main device.

You can use your account on any linked device without the main phone even being on or connected to the internet.

How to use a WhatsApp account on a second phone

  2. Open WhatsApp on your primary phone, and find the ‘Linked devices’ section in the Settings.
  3. Tap ‘Link a device’

  5. Your primary phone’s camera will be activated, use it to capture the QR code displayed on the secondary device.
