Creators of the God of War series, Sony Santa Monica, have announced that their latest installment, God of War Ragnarok, has sold 11 million copies worldwide. This Twitter-announced milestone likely includes PS4 and PS5 copies sold separately and together, as well as PS4 and PS5 copies included in hardware bundles.

The studio expressed their gratitude to their fans on Twitter, writing, “We’re incredibly humbled that God of War Ragnarok has officially sold through 11 million copies.

Fans and critics alike praised the 2018 soft reboot of the God of War series, so it’s no surprise that the new game, God of War Ragnarok, has been met with similar acclaim. Metacritic currently rates both of the relaunched God of War games at 94/100, with the PC version of God of War scoring just 93/100.

Sony has announced that the free games for PS5 owners will be removed soon, but those who have already redeemed them will be able to keep them for as long as they remain PS Plus subscribers.
