WhatsApp has been developing a new feature that would allow you to communicate with your future self. In its beta versions for Android and iOS, WhatsApp has been experimenting with several new features for sending messages to the user’s own device.
WhatsApp, a messaging network owned by Meta, has reportedly been exploring a self-messaging function that would make it easier for users to send messages to themselves. WABetaInfo reports that a subset of WhatsApp beta users on Android and iOS have been testing out new features related to sending messages to themselves.
Now that the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.24.2 has been released, the company is undertaking a short test by releasing “messages with yourself” to a select number of beta testers. When using the latest version of the Android app,
Beta users have noticed that WhatsApp highlights that conversation by adding “message yourself” as the chat description. WhatsApp now has a new “Me (You)” conversation option, which lets you communicate with only yourself.
WhatsApp still allows you to communicate with yourself through the way. me (Click on the Message link) or by making a group with only yourself as a member. However, messaging yourself can be a convenient feature or the most effective method of communication if you need to send a message later or share files between your devices.
