At 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, an unknown person approached the victim from behind in a building on East 34th Street near Church Avenue in East Flatbush, according to police. Then, he grabbed hold of the bag she was carrying. The woman fought back, but the thief was able to grab her bag and throw her to the ground, according to the police.
The woman’s back and legs were bruised, so paramedics took her to Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. The woman’s purse contained around $80 in cash, credit cards, and identification documents.
