Let’s be honest: when Sackboy: A Big Adventure came out with the PlayStation 5, you might have been interested in it, but not enough to buy it instead of Demon’s Souls or Miles Morales. You no longer have to pay extra to satisfy that curiosity, which is good news. Sony has made the spin-off of LittleBigPlanet, which is also on PS4, free for all PlayStation Plus members from April 4 to May 1.
Sackboy is very different from the other games in the series. This game is a 3D platformer that focuses on the hero’s acrobatics, while Little Big Planet is a 3D side-scroller that focuses more on how the player interacts with the environment and how creative they can be.
They all have a fairly unusual way to work together, though. You can play stages with up to three other people, and some of them require teamwork to get through. This could be a great game for you and your kids to play together.
If Sackboy doesn’t do it for you, you can try something else. Meet Your Maker, a new build-and-raid game, and Tails of Iron, a hand-drawn RPG, are both free to play on PS Plus in April. PS4 and PS5 users can get both free games.
These new features won’t make you wish you hadn’t signed up for PS Plus Extra or Premium. You recently got games like Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Tchia if you pay for these tiers. Still, it’s nice to know that you can easily add one more big-name book to your collection.
