Squid Game is a Netflix original South Korean survival drama series developed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Lee Jung-Jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-Joon, HoYeon Jung, O Yeong-Su, Heo Sung-Tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-ryoung are among the cast members.

The show centers on a competition in which 456 contestants, all of whom are deeply in debt, risk their lives by playing a series of lethal children’s games in the hopes of winning a reward of $45.6 billion (US$38 million, €33 million, or GB£29 million as of a broadcast).

Release Date For Squid Game Season 2

Netflix finally renewed Squid Game season 2 in January, after Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos was cited as remarking that “the Squid Gameworld has just started.”

Although no official release date for additional episodes has been set, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has hinted that Squid Game might return in early 2024. The filmmaker just completed a screenplay for his future film, Killing Old People Club, and now hopes to devote his focus to Squid Game season 2.

Is the Squid Game a genuine story?

Squid Game isn’t based on a true tale (thankfully), but Dong-hyuk took inspiration for the program from real-world themes of poverty and class strife, as well as events and people in his own life.
