High on Life is now the largest Xbox Game Pass launch of 2022, the largest third-party Game Pass launch ever, and the largest Game Pass single-player game launch ever.

The announcement was made via Xbox Wire, and it was stated that these statistics were “measured in terms of engagement, based on the amount of hours played in the game’s first five days of release.”

Squanch Games, the studio founded by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, created High on Life. Roiland also provides the voice of Kenny the gun and other characters in the game.

Mike Fridley, Studio Director and Chief Operating Officer of Squanch Games, stated, “This was our first time publishing a game with Game Pass, and we’ve been blown away by the response from players, who have made us the most popular game on Game Pass right now. When Squanch Games was founded, it was to develop the games that we wanted to play, and Game Pass helps us find gamers who share this desire.
