Sony is discontinuing the PlayStation Plus Collection, a collection of PS4 mainstays that PS Plus customers could download and enjoy for free on PS5.

In an email issued to subscribers, the message notes that the 19-game collection will be removed on May 9 and that subscribers have until that date to add the collection’s titles to their game library. Sony has clarified that other PS Plus benefits, such as the monthly games, will not be impacted by the closure of the collection. Here is the complete message:

The PlayStation Plus Collection was released concurrently with the PS5 as a gift for those owners. It acted as a miniature version of Xbox’s Game Pass, although with just last-gen games. The collection has remained mainly unchanged since 2020, with only Persona 5 having been removed from the original roster in the previous year. Currently, the PS Plus Collection comprises of the following games:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Battlefield 1
  • Bloodborne
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III: Zombie Chronicles Edition
  • Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition
  • God of War (2018)
  • Infamous: Second Son
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Monster Hunter: World
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Ratchet & Clank (2016)
  • Resident Evil VII: Biohazard
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  • Until Dawn

Last year, Sony announced two premium PlayStation Plus Subscription options that grant users access to a far bigger (and more often updated) catalogue of titles spanning multiple PlayStation generations. Premium members can now access the majority, but not all, of these games, thus Sony may wish to encourage normal PS Plus subscribers to upgrade. Regardless, if you haven’t already, be sure to acquire these games before the May 9 deadline.
