On Twitter, a video from several years ago in which Elon Musk discusses how the internet will one day control everything in the world has gone viral. The segment is a snippet of an interview that the chief executive officer of Tesla and SpaceX gave to CBS Sunday Morning in the year 1998. It was shared by Tesla Owners Silicon Valley.

In the video, Mr. Musk discussed how the internet will eventually replace all other forms of communication. Mr. Musk, in the process of defining the internet in his own words, referred to it as a “super-set” of all forms of media. He went on to say that the internet is “the be-all and end-all of media.”

During the course of the interview, he made the following statement: “One will see print, broadcast, and arguably, radio, and basically all media folding into the internet.”

“The internet is essentially the first form of intelligent two-way communication, and it’s responsible for making that possible. Consumers are given the ability to select the content that most interests them. I believe it will completely transform every conventional form of media “he added.

Following its initial dissemination, the video has amassed in excess of 1.8 million views and over 17,000 thumbs-up votes. The video not only attracted the focus of people who use the internet, but it also prompted Mr. Musk to leave a comment on the post.

During this time, a large number of other users of social media also reacted to the footage and shared their thoughts about it. A user wrote as follows: “Regarding this matter, he was totally correct. A genuine visionary,” one person commented, while another said, “Completely on point.””
