Apple is still hard at work fixing iOS 16’s issues, but that hasn’t prevented the first iOS 17 leaks from appearing less than a month into 2023. This Wednesday, LeaksApplePro published a series of new insights on HowToiSolve regarding the next big iOS release, which will debut alongside the iPhone 15 this fall. We are unable to confirm any of this information, but LeaksApplePro has a history of revealing Apple’s plans in advance.

According to LeaksApplePro, iOS 17 (codenamed Dawn) will have a similar visual design as iOS 16. Apple allegedly has no major overhaul plans for the 2023 release. This is at least partially owing to the fact that a significant portion of the company’s resources are being devoted to the creation of Apple’s mixed reality headset and the software that will power it.

Nevertheless, iOS 17 will have a number of significant modifications. Leaks ApplePro asserts Apple has navigational enhancements planned for the Music app, but he did not provide any other details.

Mail, Reminders, Files, Fitness, Wallet, and Find My will reportedly receive updates in iOS 17. The Home app is also likely to undergo significant modifications, although the leaker was once again unable to disclose any relevant details.

iOS 17 will reportedly include a dedicated app for the mixed reality headset, comparable to the Watch app “but with substantially more features.”

According to ApplePro’s sources, iOS 17 will support six iPhone models with the Dynamic Island. Presumably, these six will consist of the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and the four iPhone 15 variants. This is consistent with the numerous rumours that Apple may abandon the notch entirely in favour of the Dynamic Island next year.

Lastly, the code suggests that while all four iPhone 15 models will feature USB-C connectors, only two will offer data transfer speeds comparable to USB 3.2 technology. In other words, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will likely have similar transfer speeds to the Lightning port despite the switch to USB-C.
