Mark Gurman of Bloomberg says in the latest issue of his Power On newsletter that the next major version of watchOS, presumably watchOS 10, will have a lot of changes, including big changes to the user interface.

At WWDC in June, watchOS 10 will be shown off for the first time. This week, Apple confirmed that the conference will start on June 5. On that day, the company will talk about its new operating systems and release its first mixed-reality headset.

In the past few years, watchOS hasn’t changed much in terms of how it looks. Features like activity tracking and a few new watch faces have been getting better with each new release over the last few years.

Gurman thinks that this year will be different, which is exciting news for people who own an Apple Watch. The more important software update will stand in contrast to a year with few hardware changes. The newsletter says:

Gurman has said before that iOS 17 will have some features that would be nice to have. The first Apple Watch with a micro-LED display is expected to come out next year, along with a bigger update to the hardware of the Apple Watch.
