For a true Potter fan, being sorted into a particular House is crucial; it establishes a sense of identity and loyalty, and it encourages them to adopt the values and behaviours of the fictional school. In Hogwarts Legacy, players get to pick their House instead of having one assigned to them based on a personality test, which may come as a shock to longtime Potter fans.

Despite the fact that players can link their Wizarding World account to the game and bring their wand and House assignments with them, there are still those who wish to min-max the experience and learn if there are any gameplay or story effects from which House you pick in Hogwarts Legacy.

The bad news is that you can’t get 100% without playing through the game four times, once for each House, because certain achievements are dependent on which House you belong to. If you choose a House, your character will gain access to that House’s Common Room, House Colors for clothing, House-specific NPCs, companions, and additional dialogue, though the effects and overall experience will likely be minimal.

Possible stat bonuses for each of the Hogwarts Legacy houses

The four houses in the game are largely unknown beyond their names. However, since players will get to choose one, it’s possible that each will offer its own special perks.

The in-game friend will change depending on which house the player selects. More than that, though, each school has its own unique uniforms and common areas.

Hogwarts Legacy secrets have recently been revealed on Twitter. According to these, the main questline will unfold differently for each family. Even though the end result will be the same, how we get there will look a little different. According to the leak, only students from a certain house will be allowed to visit Azkaban.

There’s no indication of which house gets the opportunity to tour the Wizarding World’s Alcatraz, but Gryffindor and Slytherin are good bets. While a player’s home may have an impact on the game’s main questline, this is not likely to be the case for any of the game’s optional quests.

To switch houses in Hogwarts Legacy, players need only load a save file from before they used the sorting hat. As of this writing, it appears that there is no in-game mechanism for a player to switch houses mid-process.

The common areas of the various Hogwarts Legacy houses are the only distinguishing feature between them. The quests that a player receives have nothing to do with the houses they choose to inhabit. Some quests may begin in a variety of locations, but otherwise be identical in nature.

That’s right, in Hogwarts Legacy it won’t make any difference which house you choose. If you’re having trouble deciding which of the four Hogwarts houses you want to be sorted into when the school opens, this guide will help you make an informed decision.

It is estimated that 35 hours will be needed to complete the main questline on normal difficulty, with an additional 70 hours required to get 100% completion.
