On January 8, 2019, History premiered Project Blue Book, an American historical drama television series. Aidan Gillen portrays Dr. J. Allen Hynek in the lead role, and the first season consists of ten episodes. The series is based on the real-life Project Blue Book, a series of studies by the US Air Force into unidentified flying objects.

History renewed the series for a 10-episode second season on February 10, 2019, which will be broadcast on January 21, 2020. The series was discontinued in May 2020, according to the official announcement. On May 7, 2020, a petition was started to help the makers find a new network for the show, however, it proved unsuccessful.

‘Project Blue Book’ Season 2 premiered on History on January 21, 2020, and concluded on March 24, 2020. It is broken up into ten episodes, each of which lasts 42-44 minutes. On the same day, Season 2 averaged 1.3 million views. Viewers expected the show to be renewed as a result. The show will be canceled in May 2020, according to History.

According to Sean Jablonski, the show’s co-executive producer, History has decided to terminate all of its written programs. This does not, however, suggest that the show will be canceled permanently. On May 7, 2020, a petition was filed to aid the creators in finding a new network to air the show on. Their production business has been seeking for alternative options, ideally a streaming service to host the show.
