Apple is accelerating development of iOS 17 and its other new releases scheduled for release this year. Apple has updated some of its open-source documentation to include references to iOS 17, and the software version is also appearing more frequently in 9to5Mac’s analytics.

On the other hand, there is a false rumour circulating that purports to provide information about iOS 17…

iOS 17 Development and Timeline

Apple began updating its open-source repository annually to include references to upcoming iOS, macOS, and watchOS versions. Apple has added references to iOS 17, watchOS 10, and macOS 14 this year as well. Apple frequently refers to future versions as “TBA” to conceal their actual version numbers, but references occasionally slip through the cracks.

Unsurprisingly, these open-source repositories provide no information regarding this year’s improvements.

Since the beginning of December, 9to5Mac’s Google Analytics data indicate a sharp increase in iOS 17 usage, which is typical for this time of year. The increase at the start of the new year indicates that the number of Apple employees testing iOS 17 is growing.

iOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, iPadOS 17, and tvOS 17 are scheduled to be introduced and released in September and October at WWDC in June. Reportedly, this year’s improvements will be accompanied by the release of Apple’s Reality Pro headset, which will offer an entirely new operating system to the company’s lineup.

Apple has not yet released the WWDC dates. Additionally, we do not know if the conference will be a hybrid in-person and online event, as it was last year, or if it will return to a strictly in-person format.

In the past few years, Apple has announced WWDC on the following dates:

  • 2016: April 18
  • 2017: February 16
  • 2018: March 13
  • 2019: March 14
  • 2020: March 13
  • 2021: March 30
  • 2022: April 5

Beware of This BogusĀ  iOs 17 Rumor

Due to Apple’s Emphasis on The Reality Pro Headset and Accompanying Software, Bloomberg Reports that I Os 17 Will Have “fewer Significant Improvements than Initially Anticipated.” According to Gurman, the Same Will Be True with I Pad Os 17 and Mac Os 14, Codenamed “sunburst.”

Separately, a False I Os 17 Rumour (which We Will Not Even Link To) Is Circulating This Week. the Rumour Originates from A Twitter Account Notorious for Trolling and Spreading False Information. However, the False Rumours Have Been Picked up By a Number of Other News Organisations.

According to The Rumour, Apple Has “significant Improvements” Planned for The Home App, as Well as Updates to The “navigation” of The Music App, Among Others. Again, Though, These Accusations Lack Merit.

This Year, What Is on Your I Os 17 Wishlist? Are You Anticipating Any Shocks, or Do You Believe Apple Is Justified in Focusing on The Reality Pro Headset?
